    FACT 1: Around 9,500 strokes are experienced in New Zealand every year. That’s one every 55 minutes.

    FACT 2: Stroke can affect people at any age – even kids and babies.

    FACT 3: High blood pressure? You’re seven times more likely to have a stroke than someone with normal or low blood pressure.

  • Reducing your risk of stroke

    Eat more fruit, veges, pasta, rice, eggs, fish, chicken and less salt and processed food.

    Have at least two alcohol free days a week.

    Keep an eye on your stress levels and being smokefree.

    Get your blood pressure checked regularly.
